When you’re not found in front of a computer you are…?

At home with the dogs, catching fire calls with my Volunteer Fire Department, going out for a drink in Milford, and hiking when I can!

What was the last great book you read?

Pride and Ownership by Rick Lasky. This book is about the culture of the Fire Service, and the whys and hows of taking pride in your work, and responsibility in the people you serve. This book’s message translates very well to Mainstay’s mission, and I’m glad to have read it because it helped reinforce the importance of service quality and integrity that I am proud to have today.

What is something unique about you?

I’m a published author! I wrote an article about mental health struggles and stigma within the Fire and EMS industry, and it was published to EMS World in 2017. I wrote the article after a semester of research in High School for my senior project. I didn’t expect to be published, but I thought it was really cool that they wanted my article on their website!

If you could go anywhere for an entire month, where would it be?

I have always wanted to do a long trip across Ireland and New Zealand. The “Irish pub” culture and paranormal places of Ireland have been an interest to me for a long time, and it’s something I’ve always wanted to experience. New Zealand is known to have an incredible culture, beautiful nature, and cutting-edge technology. I find the preservation of the old mixed with the brand new to be super interesting, and I want to see how they do it.
