What is your role at Mainstay?
I am a Microsoft Power Stack Engineer. I focus on building solutions for clients – through reports, lightweight applications and automation using a suite of off the shelf Microsoft products.
What are your technology specialties?
I specialize in the PHP programming language which allows me to create websites and other software applications. I also work with Microsoft SharePoint, Adobe Photoshop, MySQL and databases frequently.
What professional events do you participate in, or what skills or accomplishments have you attained, that set you apart?
Bachelors Degree from the College of the Holy Cross, 2007
CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+
Specialized training in leadership, management, logistics, communications equipment operation and planning with the US Marines.
What was your first memory of using computers?
I began studying programming in middle school on my spare time! I began learning Quick Basic and then C and had a strong interest in creating arcade games. It all took off from there…
When you’re not found in front of a computer you are…
Enjoying life with my fiance, on another computer slaughtering orks and dragons in a video game from Steam, getting my Insanity work out on with Shaun T, playing the Warhammer series tabletop games, having philosophical discussions with my brothers, working with my church, or going out with friends to coffee shops, pubs and house parties.
What was the last great book you read?
I’m big on fiction and fantasy novels and the last book I read was “Blood of Asaheim” from the Warhammer 40,000 series. It takes place in a grim future amid the galaxy where courage, loyalty, faith and teamwork mean the difference between survival and extinction of the human race. I enjoyed the dynamic characters, the epic battles, and the compelling way the author portrayed the need for hope even against all odds of survival.
What is something unique about you?
I’m a Captain in the US Marines Inactive Ready Reserve and I stay connected with the local Catholic parishes.
What would you do if you had an extra 5 hours every week?
I would finish my personal programming projects, workout more, pray more, play violin more, become fluent in Spanish and be more involved with my local church and community.
If you could go anywhere for an entire month, where would it be and why would you go there?
I’d love to go to Ireland to see the land of my ancestors, visit historical sites and visit the pubs and religious shrines.
What are you most frequently heard listening to?
I have broad tastes and will rock out to Boston one day, sing to Andrea Bocelli the next, and dance to some Salsa or Bachata the next. Some other favorites include Switchfoot, Tchaikovsky, Dashboard Confessional, Goo Goo Dolls, Monchy y Alexandra, and ES Posthumus.
What is one thing you love about your career?
Getting the chance to capture the creative vision of a business and make it come to life!
