The great city of Manchester, NH

What is your role at Mainstay?

I oversee and manage the Accounting team and Payroll. I provide executive level reporting to the CEO and provide support for other leaders in the organization.

What is your educational background?

I was Valedictorian of my High School graduating class, I received my undergraduate degree from Plymouth State University in Marketing and my MBA from SNHU with a Finance concentration. I am a member of SHRM, currently serving on the Board of the Concord Chapter, and have earned my SHRM-SCP certification. I am also a member of IMA and hope to pursue my CMA certification. As this testifies, I have a life-long love of learning and plan to continue volunteering as time allows and pursue opportunities to continue to learn and grow.

When you’re not found in front of a computer you are…

Reading a variety of books ranging from mystery novels to true stories of life experiences to non-fiction US History (early 1700’s preferably) to many different Sci-Fi authors (Orson Scott Card being my favorite) to novels of Ireland. I enjoy attending cultural events, golfing, visiting the ocean regularly, and spending time with friends and family.

What was the last great book you read?

Arthur C. Clarke’s “2001: A Space Odyssey”. After reading a lot from more modern Sci-Fi authors I decided it was time to read some classics. What a unique experience it must have been for Arthur C. Clarke to write this novel at the same time the movie was being filmed, rather than writing it first and then having the movie based on the novel once published. I am now working my way through the entire Space Odyssey series so I can read the newest series, “A Time Odyssey”, co-written by Arthur C. Clarke and Stephen Baxter, which is a continuation of Clarke’s “Space Odyssey” series.

What is something unique about you?

After graduating from college I moved to the Middle East to help teach English in an Arab American school. I taught first through fifth grade for five months. Everyone there welcomed me into their homes with graciousness and giving hearts. After returning, I spent five and a half years as a preschool teacher in NH and Ohio.

What would you do if you had an extra 5 hours every week?

I would join a wind ensemble and play my flute more regularly.

If you could go anywhere for an entire month, where would it be and why would you go there?

I would travel to Ireland and spend the month touring the Churches and Cathedrals, learning about their history and experiencing their current worship services.

What are you most frequently heard listening to?

From Gaelic Storm and all things Irish to Blackmore’s Night and other ethereal artists to Bing Crosby and the great music of the 40’s, I frequently listen to a wide range of music. Included in the list are Benny Goodman’s Big Band, Ella Fitzgerald with the great Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, and the Rat Pack.

What is your favorite sports team?

My favorite football team would have to be the Green Bay Packers.

What is one thing you love about your career?

The variety of the challenges and the knowledge that my work has a positive impact on the company overall and on each member of our team.
