What professional events do you participate in, or what skills or accomplishments have you attained, that sets you apart?
I’m most proud of serving in the United States Air Force, and will continue to do so. I’ve gone on humanitarian missions for individuals devastated by natural disasters, and have been able to excel in my education through the Armed Forces resources. Being a servant first is a value I live by and hope to demonstrate to our clientele, just as Mainstay as a whole does.
What was your first memory of using computers?
My parents gave me a dusty computer with Windows XP and no internet connection, and I’d just type up stories for hours and hours. I also discovered the awesomeness that is Space Cadet pinball for Windows.
When you’re not found in front of a computer you are…
Jogging, playing the drums, lighting fires… er, a bonfire, that is. Word placement is important! I’m also huge on quality family time, especially with my parents and future in-laws (as of September 1st, YES!)
What was the last great book you read?
I recently read The Fellowship of the Ring by the great J.R.R. Tolkien. My favorite book of any fantasy. I also read a huge textbook on CompTIA’s A+ certification program, and it was not that bad.
What is something unique about you?
I’m a Mario Kart connoisseur…catch me with that blue shell! I’m also great at memorizing dates. Maybe I should have been a history major?
What is a silly or interesting event that you’ve participated in previously, and what did you take away from the experience?
The Air Force sent me through a Sergeant preparatory school, which taught me all about effective communication, team building concepts, and the art of giving good feedback to members of your organization. It was truly eye-opening for me, and strengthened my capability to lead others.
What would you do if you had an extra 5 hours every week?
If I had 5 extra hours every week, I’d spend it with my Fiancée, just hanging out on the deck. Sometimes the simple things are overlooked and forgotten, and I’d just like to remember quiet moments like that.
If you could go anywhere for an entire month, where would it be and what would you do (or why would you do it)?
I’d love to spend a month somewhere down south, learning how to garden and how to farm as an intern. I’d like to have my own sort of farm and gardens someday, or at least the knowledge to do it.
Favorite sports teams?
I love watching the Super Bowl every year, because I get to see one lucky team face off against the New England Patriots.
