What is your role at Mainstay?
As the Director of People Support, I am responsible for benefits, compliance, recruiting, and fostering the team member experience. I ensure that the team gets the best support and experience possible, furthering Mainstays culture of caring for the team in a holistic manner.
What was your first memory of using computers?
Playing Sonic the Hedgehog on the family computer as a kid. I also remember my Dad having the original Nintendo console, and I loved playing the Legend of Zelda and Maniac Mansion.
When you’re not found in front of a computer you are…
Out hiking, going to spin class, practicing yoga, reading (hopefully at the beach), and spending time with family. I love the time I get to be with my husband, whether it’s travelling or just lounging around. He truly is the best!
What would you do if you had an extra 5 hours every week?
Go hiking with my pup! She’s a bundle of energy, and loves exploring in the woods. It gives me so much joy to see how excited she gets when I start packing my bag. The whole experience and the breathtaking view at the top really helps declutter my mind.
If you could go anywhere for an entire month, where would it be and what would you do (or why would you do it)?
I would spend the month in Costa Rica at an intensive Yoga Teacher Training. Spreading the benefits of yoga has been a passion of mine for a while now, and I have wanted to pursue my certification, but haven’t been able to find the time. If I could, I’d take my certification in Costa Rica, so I could explore a new country and experience two of my favorite locations at once: beaches and mountains. If I could squeeze in some backpacking while I am there too, I’d be in my own personal heaven!
What are you most frequently heard listening to?
An eclectic mix of music from 90’s Hip Hop to 70’s Rock and Modern Pop. Almost every playlist has something from Queen on it. When I’m not listening to music, podcasts are the next best thing! It’s an easy and fun way to learn more about subjects you may not normally be exposed to. My top podcasts right now are “Hurdle”, “Science Rules!”, “Stuff You Should Know”, “Good Life Project”, and “Armchair Expert”.
Favorite sports teams?
Not a dedicated fan, but root New England Teams all the way!
What is one thing you love about your career?
I love being able to deliver the best experience to each of our hard-working team members! If there is any way that I can play a part in making the team’s experience of coming to work even better, that makes my day. I also love trying to find new ways to make HR more relevant and purposeful for the team.
