What are your technology specialties?

Server (Windows/Linux), Endpoint administration (Windows, iOS, Android, MacOS, Linux), Networking (Cisco/Meraki, Juniper, Unifi/Ubiquiti), Wireless admin/implementation, Conferencing/AV implementation, Scripting/Automation

What professional events do you participate in, or what skills or accomplishments have you attained, that sets you apart?

I am an AVIXA certified technology specialist, one of fewer than 650 professionals worldwide that holds of both the AVIXA CTS-I and CTS-D certifications. Whether it’s a brand new corporate headquarters buildout, or retrofit/upgrade of existing conferencing spaces, I’m qualified to design the solution from the ground-up AND perform all the necessary work to install and commission the systems.

What was your first memory of using computers?

My father has worked in IT for as long as I can remember. I remember being five years old, he had boxes of parts that we assembled into computers as he was building his home lab.

When you’re not found in front of a computer you are…?

I can be found spending time with my wife and our dog or out and about in the local music scene (attending, playing in bands and being a sound engineer/sound guy)!

What is something unique about you?

Though primarily I am a guitar player, I can play any “rock” instrument including keyboard, bass and drums. I was part of a John Cougar Mellencamp tribute band, in which I played piano, mandolin, accordion.

What would you do if you had an extra 5 hours every week?

I would be playing and practicing much more of my music. I use to spend hours and hours every week when I was younger and I wish I had that sort of time again!

What are you most frequently heard listening to?

My music varies wildly depending on what bands I’m playing with, which can vary from Contemporary Christian, to Soul/Oldies, to 80’s synth-pop and hair metal! When I get to listen to my own music, it tends to be a mix of Progressive Rock, Funk/Fusion, and a generous mix of the top 40 from the 60’s and 70’s with some 90’s-00’s rock.
