What is your role at Mainstay?

Here at mainstay I get to take calls from the nicest people around! I enter requests for service and make sure information is correct and up to date. I handle the administrative side of equipment recycling and ensure clients information is kept safe and secure. I also assist team members when needed and handle shipping new and repaired systems to the appropriate recipient. My aim is to make everyone’s day easier!

What was your first memory of using computers?

My first experience with computers was in high school. I took a class in COBOL and even though I did not pursue it further, I found it extremely interesting. I have fond memories of the dial up internet sound and the voice of Elwood telling me I had mail!

When you’re not found in front of a computer you are…

…enjoying nature! Whether it’s gardening, floating in the river, or inside during a snow storm watching the various types of birds as they fly to the trees for cover, and to the feeders for some extra food!

What was the last great book you read?

One of the books I keep going back to is “the Four Agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz. I think its message is universal and timeless. I read a lot of travel books and listen to audiobooks and Podcasts while I am in the car. “On Being with Krista Tippett” is one of my favorites.

If you could go anywhere for an entire month, where would it be and what would you do (or why would you do it)?

I would certainly travel, but it would be a hard decision to choose where. Portugal and Chile are high on my list, or maybe I would fly out to Vancouver and take the train back through the Rockies (decisions decisions)! I have always had a healthy respect for nature and love to explore off the beaten path, yet I am at the age where I enjoy a bit of comfort as well. I think it is important to experience other cultures, meet different people, and learn a bit about the vast world out there.

What are you most frequently heard listening to?

I love a wide range of genres and am a big fan of open mic night especially! I love listening to un-polished talent. Although it can be either a hit or miss, sometimes you find a rare gem. I listen to Acoustic Café every weekend, try to find obscure college radio stations to stream, and hope to catch Amos Lee at Red Rocks someday!

What is one thing you love about your career?

One thing I love about my career is that I am continually learning new things. The technology field is constantly changing. Whether it is staying safe online,or exploring the newest gadgets to make life more manageable, nothing stays the same for long, and I get to play a part in the whole process!

What is one thing everyone should know about Mainstay Technologies?

Everyone here actually cares for the people we work with.  Whether it is a client calling in with a problem, or a co-worker that is hung up on an issue, people genuinely care, and will not hesitate to reach out and lend a helping hand with a smile!
