Windows 7 - is it ready for your business?
Is Windows 7 good enough for my business? That is one of the big questions for winter 2009, as the Windows 7 launch has come and gone.
At Mainstay, we have worked with Windows 7 since early beta releases and have been testing it and deploying it for months. Overall, Windows 7 is an excellent operating system that is stable, reliable, and has many great features. It is an excellent upgrade to previous operating systems and is not plagued with many of the issues Vista had.
The choice of a new operating system should always be discussed with your IT consultant, as there are scenarios where Windows XP can still make the most sense. However, whenever possible, we recommend purchasing new computers with Windows 7 Professional. We have had great success with Windows 7, and, when properly deployed, it can be a great tool for productivity.
