Ryan Sheidow

I was born in Lowell, MA however I grew up in Auburn, NH.

What are your technology specialties?

Currently, I’m pursuing my Associate’s degree in IT at NHTI and learning new technologies. I have a strong background in the Apple ecosystem, whether it be macOS or iOS. I am very familiar with most Apple software as well and can find my way around the filesystem quite well.

What professional events do you participate in, or what skills or accomplishments have you attained, that sets you apart?

While in high school, my learning track brought me to SkillsUSA where I participated in annual state and national SkillsUSA competitions for Programming and Telecommunications. I placed second in NH for Programming and first for Telecommunications twice. After placing first in NH, I went to Nationals in Kentucky where I placed 10th and then 3rd in Telecommunications.

When are you not found in front of a computer you are…?

When I’m not working or playing video games, I’m most likely playing with my dog Jax, who is a German Shepherd and Husky mix. You can often find me with my camera taking pictures of a variety of landscapes like wildlife, the lake, or layered time lapse photos of the night sky. During the winter, I’ll be on the slopes snowboarding every chance I get.

What is a silly or interesting event that you have participated in previously, and what did you take away from the experience?

In high school, I was a coxswain for my crew team and was able to compete in the Head of the Charles Regatta, a massive international race. Competing in this race took months of practice and the days leading up to the race, hours of preparation off the water. I was fortunate enough to gain many leadership skills that have helped me not only personally but also in my work life.

What would you do if you had an extra 5 hours every week?

Hands down, I’d play more chess. I have recently started to play chess more and I would love to learn and try to master different opening styles or even some end game plays.

What are you most frequently heard listening to?

My taste in music is quite bizarre. It depends on what kind of mood I am in and what I am doing. Anywhere from EDM/Dance to Alternative to Classic Rock. Oh, and I do not use playlists, I often just hit shuffle on all my music!

Favorite sports teams?

Easy… Patriots. And yes, even though Brady has left.
