Hometown?

Born and raised in the Great White North. My hometown was Vulcan, Alberta, Canada. Look it up on Google Maps if you’re interested in seeing a statue of the Starship Enterprise from Star Trek!

What was your first memory of using computers?

I recall waking up on Christmas when I was 5 to find a computer on a desk running Windows 95 (coincidentally the year I was born). The amount of hours I would spend playing Solitaire, Mine Sweeper and dabbled in MS Paint was immeasurable. I also recall accidentally wiping that computer (Curiosity really did kill the cat! Or computer in this case).

What professional events do you participate in, or what skills/accomplishments have you attained, that sets you apart?

I graduated with honors from New Hampshire Technical Institute. I received my Associates in Science, specializing in Information Technology – Networking. While working on network infrastructure is where I would like to be involved, I also am a jack of all trades when it comes to IT!

When you’re not found in front of a computer you are…

During the spring and summer, you’ll find me out on a lake with my wife kayaking. I like to take nature walks as well and occasionally go fishing. I also enjoy reading, playing video games with friends (Both cooperatively and competitively), and dive into random videos on YouTube (Will knowing what Fermi Paradox is help me fix your computer? Probably not, but it’s fascinating!)

What was the last great book you read?

Currently reading Knife of Dreams by Robert Jordan. Fantasy/Sci-fi books have always been my go-to. Robert Jordan was an amazing author and I would go so far as to say his writing was comparable to J.R. Tolkien.

What is a silly or interesting event that you’ve participated in previously, and what did you take away from the experience?

I’ve gone to over two dozen concerts/venues and have seen close to thirty different bands (Some I’ve seen multiple times) all of which are part of the rock/metal genre. Despite rock concerts sometimes being portrayed as rough and full of bad crowds I’ve met some of the kindest people at events like this.

If you could go anywhere for an entire month, where would it be and what would you do (or why would you do it)?

I would love to travel across Europe. I think it would be amazing to see places such as London, Paris, and Rome. Visiting historical sites, museums and science centers has always been something that captivates me, and I would love to experience what Europe has to offer!

What are you most frequently heard listening to?

While I’ve been to a lot of rock/metal concerts I do listen to genres outside of that. If you were look at my play list you would see anything from Papa Roach, The Ghost Inside, and AC/DC to Eminem, E-Dubble, and other pop/electronic artist! When I’m working, you’ll likely find me listening to Lofi-Hip Hop as I find it calming.
